The Institute has participated in a three-day conference of the East African Health Research Commission in Dar es Salaam. The Institute is exhibiting its services and has given a progress report on East Africa's Centres of Excellence for Oncology.
The Conference was opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Tanzania who emphasized the need to invest in digital health to catalyze East Africa to attain the UN-Sustainable Development Goals.
This comes at an opportune time when the UCI is focusing on increasing involvement of ICT in cancer care.
During the conference, the chief guest mentioned that digital health is proved as one of the enablers of sustainable development goals and a lot of pilot projects all over the world are confirming to be the same in low and middle-income country settings.
